Official Xbox Live Co-Op Game Night!
May 15th, 2008

It's May 1st and it's already spring time. Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and gamers are faced with the tough decision: Do I mow the lawn or play GTA IV? May is also going to be the first month we announce the Xbox Co-Op Game of the Month, as well as our official Co-Op Game Night on Xbox Live!
The folks over at the Xbox Community team have graciously agreed to help support the cause and create 1 night a month that's the official co-op gaming night for all of Xbox Live. How friggin' awesome is that? The game of the month won't necessarily have to be a brand new title, in fact, in most cases it won't be. We want as many gamers as possible to be able to sign on and enjoy a great co-op gaming experience with friends and community members.

So our first co-op game will be Halo 3, and the official Halo 3 Co-Op night will be May 15th.
The Co-Op Experience in Halo 3
Halo 3 supports up to 4 Players for co-op play via Xbox Live. You can even play 2 players splitscreen cooperating with 1 or 2 other players over Xbox Live.
Player one will control the Master Chief, player two will control the Arbiter and players three and four will control two new Elite characters: N’tho ‘Sraom and Usze ‘Taham.

A special thanks to Trixie over at Xbox.com for helping get this set up - and make sure you check out the Xbox Community Events Calendar for other great game nights on Xbox Live!

First I declined to mow my lawn and instead played GTA IV.Second It's cool that there's a co-op night, but I find the event calendar a bit disappointing in coordination. Other than suggesting what game or type of game to play, and sometimes instructions on how to get in touch with others playing said games, there's nothing that drives it.There should be functionality in XBL to "join others" in that activity, like a lobby you can join. From there you can invite friends to the room, create a private room, browse what titles people are playing to get an idea of what you'd like to take part in. Plus restrictions, so M rated games can't be played on family nights, etc. Then the community will exist within XBL and not erratically manifested from a website every day.
This sounds like it's going to be great!
Should do what Destructoid does, since 360 live accounts let you invite friends of your friends, if you setup a "dummy" account that everyone can add to their friends list it'd make it easy to find matches come game night.
Heh - it's already created. [url">http://live.xbox.com/member/co%20optimus
Sony sucks. Their HD TV's, Playstations, internet browsers, and everything else.
Hehe...please sir...tell me more. I am interested in your theory and am just curious to see what proofs you have available.
I'm in.
Well Sony's HD sucks because it's all blurry and their game consuls are copying everything off of Microsoft
...must....resist...
Dude I'm actually laughing out loud, like a dork, thanks to you Bio.
Banana Boy, let's not turn this thread (or forum) into a console war. There are numerous other forums for that. Thank you.
