A game divided against itself cannot stand

Further Developments for Battleborn Have Ceased, Servers Still Running

There were some great ideas and nifty mechanics within Battleborn, but, ultimately, it seems like it was not destined to be a long-running franchise for Gearbox. In a forum post this weekend, Creative Director Randy Varnell stated that "there will be no more Battleplans and there is currently no planned content after the Fall Update." The lights may be on (for now), but nobody is home.

Interview sheds a little light on it all, but it doesn't sound too different than past offerings

Call of Duty: WWII's Zombie Mode is a Call of Duty Zombie Mode

The PlayStation Blog spoke with senior director Jon Horsley from Sledgehammer Games about the Zombie Mode in the forthcoming Call of Duty: WWII. There are a few interesting tidbits scattered in the interview, but it also sounds like there isn't anything particularly new here compared to the Zombie Modes of the previous Call of Duty entries.

Super Mario Odyssey Hardware Bundle Coming Soon

There wasn't a whole lot of co-op news coming out of the Nintendo Direct on Wednesday. The previously announced Kirby title finally got a name, Kirby Star Allies, and a few already known co-op titles, like Nine Parchments, were shown off, but other than that, the only other semi co-op news was the announcement of a Super Mario Odyssey Switch bundle that will be available to purchase soon.

The Latest ArmA 3 DLC Takes A More Humanitarian Aim

ArmA 3, a game known for its hardcore simulation of military combat, is shifting its focus slightly with its latest DLC, "Laws of War".  Where much of the base game centers around the moment-to-moment action and tactical decisions required in a firefight, "Laws of War" hones in on the effects of those firefights on both civilians living in the area and humanitarian workers attempting to repair the damage done afterward.

Some Details for First Expansion to Destiny 2 Revealed

While folks are still busy gearing up and getting ready for the first raid on the console version of Destiny 2, a listing for the first bit of DLC for the title has popped up on the Microsoft store. Titled "Curse of Osiris," this expansion seems to follow in the same suite as that "Taken King" for original Destiny by adding a new planet to explore (Mercury), new weapons and armor, new missions, and more.

Final DLC for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Now Available on PS4

We're getting closer to November, which means the next Call of Duty title is just around the corner. It also means it's time for the final piece of DLC from last year's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to drop. "Retribution" is available today on the PlayStation 4, and will be available next month for Xbox One and PC.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Return Of The Moon Wizards

Listen, you guys don't need me to tell you what most of the Co-Opticrew will be up to this particular weekend.  Bungie's latest co-op loot shooter has arrived in the form of Destiny 2, so you know we'll be playing it until our eyes bleed.  I will say, though, that I honestly wasn't expecting it to just barely edge out a loot shooter that's half a decade old.  I guess that just goes to show that you can never truly escape the siren call of better loot.

Watch The Devs Hunt A Big Ol' Dinosaur In Monster Hunter: World

Imagine just standing around, minding your own business and being a dinosaur, when all of a sudden a squad of jerks pop out of the trees and cut off your tail.  Such is the life of the digital prey that permeate Monster Hunter: World.  To be fair, it's probably good to thin their numbers a little.  I imagine having a ton of huge carnivores running around has to be at least a little hard on the ecosystem.

Neon Chrome minus the procedural generation

10tons' New Title, JYDGE, Out This Month on PC, October for PS4

Following on the success of their last title (the excellent Neon Chrome), 10tons has a new twin-stick shooter coming out soon that is set in the same universe and uses many of the same mechanics, but with a few notable differences. JYDGE is all of the aesthetics and style of Neon Chrome, minus the randomness, plus a whole lot more customization.

New Co-Op Game Releases - September 6 Edition

A new week (I know, we're off by a couple days) is here which means we've got a new bunch of co-op releases. Destiny 2 is the big one here, but we've also got a stylish Zelda throwback title in Songbringer, the sequel no one thought would happen in Knack 2, and LEGO Worlds and Neurovoider both make their way onto the Switch.

Our Weekend In Gaming: The Fruits Of Our Labor

The Co-Opticrew has been hard at working sowing the seeds of co-op gaming for weeks on end.  We've made the populace aware of as many announcements, patches, and dev videos as humanly possible, and now we reap our just rewards.  At least, that's what caused our upcoming extended weekend in my headcanon.  It's also possible that this holiday comes pretty consistently every year and our work has extremely little impact on it.
