Operation Flashpoint 2 System Requirements Unveiled

Despite having a brand new gaming laptop, the recently released Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising system requirements scare me.   Not only do they require a dual core processor, they recommend you have a quad core processor.  Thankfully the memory and video card requirements don't seem as steep, but to get something looking as good as the screenshot above - we're thinking it's time to hit up NewEgg and look for some upgrades.

Minimum requirements
Operating system: Windows XP SP2 or later
GPU: DirectX 9.0c GPU: Shader 3.0 (GeForce 7900 GT / 256 MB VRAM or higher)
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
1 GB Memory: 1 GB
8 GB Hard disk: 8 GB
CPU: Dual Core CPU 2 x 2.4 GHz
DVD-ROM DVD drive: Dual Layer DVD-ROM

Recommended System
Operating system: Windows XP SP2 or later
GPU: Shader 3.0 (GeForce 8800 GT / 512 MB VRAM or higher), DirectX 9.0c
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
Memory: 2 GB
Hard disk: 8 GB
CPU: Quad Core CPU
DVD drive: Dual Layer DVD-ROM

There's also a note saying that specifications for using the mission editor might be higher than the game's.  Dual quad cores anyone?

Thankfully the game will still be coming out on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 day and date with the PC version.  While your game might not look as good as your friend's triple quad core box with 16 gigs of ram and a pair of SLI'd GTX280 video cards - at least you know you didn't have to take out a second mortgage on the Xbox.

Which system will you be playing co-op on?
