Three Editions of Halo Reach Announced, Your Cat is Going to be Disappointed

What you see above is the Legendary Edition of Halo Reach, which weighs in at an estimated $149.99 asking price.  You'll notice the distinct lack of cat helmet, a phrase that become famous with the Legendary Edition of Halo 3.

Instead hardcore Halo fans will be treated with a statue showing off Noble squad, created and painted by Todd McFarlane himself.  He didn't actually paint YOUR statue, but you get the idea.  Along with the Legendary Edition is a limited edition as well.  Sounds very similar to Halo 3's trifecta of versions.  Let's see what you get in the box, shall we?

Halo: Reach Standard Edition ($59.99)

Halo: Reach Limited Edition ($79.99)
- Game disc housed in recovered ONI “Black box”
- An exclusive Elite armour set for use in Multiplayer
- Artifact bag containing Dr. Halsey’s personal journal and other classified documents and effects that unravel long-held secrets from the Halo universe

Halo: Reach Legendary Edition ($149.99)
The completed Halo: Reach collection. In addition to the game disc, manual, and the complete contents of the Limited Edition, the Legendary Edition includes:
-Noble Team statue expertly crafted by the artisans at McFarlane Toys. Individually moulded, hand-painted and individiuslly numbered, this statue is a must-have for any serious Halo fan,
- UNSC-themed custom packaging,
- An exclusive Multiplayer Spartan armour effect.

Amazon is currently pegging a September 1st release date for the title, though the special editions aren't quite listed there yet. They are also offering $20 in video game credit for pre-ordering the standard edition, something that would be nice to see carry over to the specials when they go live.

You gotta love that Legendary Edition, it even promotes co-op gaming.
