Warhammer 40000: Space Marine Confirms Co-Op, New Screens

The upcoming third-person shooter, Warhammer 40000: Space Marine, has high aspirations.  The video game industry has its fair share of generic "space marines," but 40k enthusiasts will say that they had them first.    Orks are threatening the Imperial Forge World.  WH40k: Space Marine finds players taking control of a beefy, armored, death machine named Captain Titus.  It's your job to killify any and all threats to the Imperium of Man.  VG24/7 had a recent interview with WH40k: Space Marine developer, Relic.  In the lengthy interview they discuss things such as staying true to 40k lore, going up against Gears of War 3, and the lack of a cover system (Space marines don't need no stinkin' cover system).

A quick little blurb caught our eye:

The single-player storyline in the game will last around the 10-hour mark, and to add more playtime, a multiplayer and DLC component as well as full progression and levelling-up system is included in the game. A co-op multiplayer experience is also included, and apparently, there are more features as well, but these are something McDermott said will be discussed at E3 in June.

"A co-op multiplayer experience"?  You have our attention.  Unfortunately, we don't know anything else about the co-op.  A few of us will be braving LA traffic this June for E3.  Then we'll see exactly what Relic has in store for the co-op community.  If any other co-op news breaks, we'll be sure to keep you posted.  Warhammer 40k: Space Marine is scheduled to come out this August on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
