Get your whetstones ready for the grind

Monster Hunter 3:Ultimate is coming out in less than a month for the Wii U and the 3DS. You may have read in our previous news coverage that Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate for the Wii U would be playable only in your home region. Well, it seems that the folks over at Capcom Unity have been listening to fan demands and are deciding to add two very nice features to the Wii U version of the game.

Capcom has promised that in April they will release a patch for the game that will provide off-TV play for the Gamepad in addition to allowing for North American and European lobbies. This means that if you want to take your monster hunting escapades on the go, you can certainly do so with just the Gamepad. It could also be a good idea if your TV is being used and you have the itch to farm for that next big item. Creating cross-region lobbies is a great feature that will increase the pool of hunters to draw from, and ensure longevity for the community. Capcom will also feature free DLC quests for "several months." You can grab the first one for free when the game launches.

It is refreshing to see that the community interaction paid off for the Monster Hunter fanbase,. Kudos to Capcom for being flexible enough to allow for these welcome changes to the game. Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate is shaping up to be one of the biggest hits for the Wii U to date. The game will be released on March 19th, and will feature up to four player online cooperative play and four player ad-hoc play.
