Co-Op Classics Video Edition: Captain America & The Avengers and The Real Ghostbusters

Games based on popular properties from movies, books, and other media were always popular in arcades.  Many a brawler or shooter based on a cartoon or comic book could be found, particularly in the late 80s and early 90s.  Today we take a look at two such classics, one based on a superhero team led by an iconic super soldier who has his own movie in theaters right now, and the second based on one of the biggest Hollywood hits of the 80s: Ghostbusters.

Captain America & The Avengers

Though I count X-Men as the finest comic book arcade adaptation, Captain America & The Avengers isn't too far behind.  Iron Man, Hawkeye, and the Vision (in the odd white costume he wore for a few years) joined Cap in a quest to defeat the Red Skull.  It's a very solid brawler, with shooter-like sections similar to that of Superman.  The game is notorious for having some of the worst localization ever, making for hilariously bizarre dialog.  Fear the threat of the Mech. Taco, whatever that is!
