Gears of War 4's Horde Mode Got an Update Last Week

Earn experience and credits faster

The Coalition pushed an update to Gears of War 4 last Friday (in the midst of the "Great Internet Outage") to address some of the complaints players had about how quickly experience and credits are earned in Horde matches (both Public and Private).

The stealth patch was pushed out late in the day on Friday so some folks may have missed it. Here are the notes from the announcement post:

  • Credit earn rates have increase across all difficulties. Players can expect to earn more credits in Horde mode now.
  • We have shifted total credit earn rates to tie a bit more in with finishing the waves and less on finishing consecutive waves. This is to help players not feel as if they are being punished for trying higher difficulties and not always making it to 50.
  • We have also increased the Level XP earn rate on classes.

Hopefully these changes mean a friendlier Horde environment for all as you'll always be getting something for your efforts.

Gears of War 4 is out now for Windows 10 PC and the Xbox One. If you've got questions about how co-op works with cross-platform play, and what features are supported on which platform, check our FAQ for all the details.
