PlayStation 3 Trophies Now Available on PlayStation.com

PlayStation 3 owners have travelled a long road to get here, but Sony finally has their trophy system extended off the PlayStation 3 and onto the web.

By heading to the Trophy Page - players can view the progress of all of their in-game trophies that they've completed to date.  You'll also be able to view all available trophies for a game.

One thing noticeably absent is the ability to view and compare trophies with friends - something that is painfully slow when done through the XMB.  Thankfully, according to the Official PlayStation Blog, we'll be seeing this feature sometime later this year.

My guess is it won't be long now until we see a site like MyGamerCard pop up for trophies.

Yeah, Im very jealous of the 360's use of gamercard to show off the points and recently played games and all that. Once Sony decides to do something like that, and have the ability to chat with others outside of an online game, then I will be happy.

Yeah, the gamer card thing would be cool. I'm sure its comming.

As far as chatting outside of games. You can already do that. You can pull in like six people and all chat. You can even use the playstation eye for video chatting if you want to. Is that what you are talking about? You can also share photos that are on your hard drive with the group. Its actually pretty cool.

No, what I mean is that I would want to chat with friends even when Im playing a single player game. Currently with the PS3, you're stuck in that chatroom, and you cant run it in the background.
