Venture into the Deepest Dark in Evolve Stage 2

Things could get stranger...

Earlier this month, Turtle Rock added co-op to Evolve Stage 2 and hinted that there may be in store. A few days ago, they revealed what that additional co-op may look like with "The Deepest Dark."

This free add-in, which is currently listed as being in beta, can be found in the Co-op Vs AI queue as a map variant. Rather than pit you and three friends against an A.I. controlled monster, The Deepest Dark seeks to provide something closer to the kind of linear co-op experience you'd find in other first-person shooters. Your main mission is to track down the Queen of the Gorgons in an overrun facility and take her down. If this kind of addition gains ground with the Evolve community, then additional "Co-Op Operations" could be added in the future.

As the developer states in their dev blog:

Unlike your typical 4v1 Hunt, The Deepest Dark is a linear 4-player co-op experience built within the Evolve universe and players will be able to access the operation as a new map variant within the Co-op vs. AI menu. Like Stage 2 itself, this operation is an experiment – the first baby step toward exploring the story of Evolve – and we’re excited to hear what you think.

Evolve Stage 2 is available for free via Steam and includes The Deepest Dark at no additional cost.
