To be honest, if someone were to call me a "pit person", I'd be vaguely offended, but I'm not quite sure why. I suppose I'll have to get used to it, though, as people will be slinging that term around all willy-nilly once The Behemoth's Pit People hits closed beta for Xbox One on September 8th. Soon enough, forums will be rife with topics titled "Check out my new yaoi pitfic", "How 2 be best NA pit person in ranked", and "Petition for the devs to add more varied sizes of pits". I await their arrival with bated breath.
As the "closed" portion of "closed beta" implies, this event is only available to a select few applicants. If that's you, congratulations! Enjoy your exclusive glimpse at the latest from the folks behind Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid. If not, though, no worries! Registration is still open, and all you have to do is follow the steps on this fancy lil' form.
For those not in the know, Pit People is a two player co-op game with what appears to be a mix of tactics RPGs and Frozen Synapse-esque planning/execution phases. It may not be quite as frantic as The Behemoth's prior offerings, but given their pedigree, I'm pretty excited to see what they can do with a different style of game. With PAX West on the horizon, more details on the game's assorted pits and people are sure to be forthcoming.
