Beyond Co-Op, April 18th to April 25th

The stories for this week:

- Brutal Legend Dated

- inFAMOUS and Uncharted: Among Thieves News Monday

- Activision Blizzard Announces More Spider-Man and Transformers

- Wolverine and Velvet Assassin Next Week

- Fallout: New Vegas Announced

Brutal Legend Dated

Good news this week as Brutal Legend has been dated for release on October 13th, kind of in the early stages of the fall gaming rush that will probably happen. One can only hope this game does better than Psychonauts did in sales.

inFAMOUS and Uncharted: Among Thieves News Monday

If you look at Sony’s Playstation homepage, they are showing a flash animation that talks about an “electrifying announcement” coming Monday that is about inFAMOUS and Uncharted: Among Thieves. What is known is that the press embargo lifts on both games Monday. Each one recently had a press event surrounding it. However it is doubtful that is the news. Most people are guessing there will be an Uncharted demo packaged with inFAMOUS when it comes out in late May. We shall find out Monday.

UPDATE: Actually we found out yesterday thanks to some intrepid NeoGAF user who found some pre-order boxes for inFAMOUS at Best Buy and took a picture. The picture showed that there would be an Uncharted 2: Among Thieves multiplayer voucher included in the box. Now the question is what kind of multiplayer options that game will have…and whether there will be any co-op.

Activision Blizzard Announces More Spider-Man and Transformers

No big surprise here, but evidently there are more off-movie games coming from both properties. High Moon Studios will handle the Transformers game while Prototype developer Radical Entertainment will be working on the Spider-Man one. Should be interesting to see what they come up with, all I hope is that the Transformers one is based around Generation 1.

Wolverine and Velvet Assassin This Week

Both of these games come out next week. I am intrigued by Wolverine only because Raven has repeatedly beat us over the head that this is not a movie tie-in game even though it is coming out on the same day as the movie. In fact they like to point out they’ve been working on this game for over 2 years now. However, how does this explain the fact that the actual actors do many of the voiceovers and that Wolverine looks like Hugh Jackman. Previews have been pretty glowing on this game, but then again previews can be questionable from time to time. Velvet Assassin also hits next week, although I’ve never been interested in it.

Fallout: New Vegas Announced

Bethesda this week announced that an all-new Fallout game was coming and that it was being developed by Obsidian. Should be interesting to see how this goes given that Obsidian is made up of many ex-Black Isle developers, the company that originally made the Fallout games. This could be full of win and it also shows that Bethesda is obviously working on something totally different than a Fallout 3 followup.
