Gears of War 2: First Gameplay Footage

May 10th, 2008 at 8:17 AM Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo

While this video of Gears of War 2 doesn't technically show off co-op, it should inspire you to realize just how awesome the cooperative play is going to be while rolling through the forest on the back of a giant mechanized vehicle ramming through huge Brumbacks and taking out swarms of Locusts.

Full video after the jump.

I don't know...watched the video last night and it really didn't draw me in. I felt like I would feel very "out of control" when playing the game.I think I just dislike levels that involve "protect this vehicle" type objectives.

I always felt in GoW it took waaaay too many shots to bring someone down. In this footage, I get the same feeling. When you're wailing on those flying things or the giant walking dude with your standard machine gun, it looks like you'll have to empty clip after clip into them before they fall. I know they want it to be hard, and I don't have much to compare it to in real life, but it still seems unbalanced. How many bullets would it take to bring down a t-rex? The other issue is the using them as a shield move. I get the feeling the locust horde could care less if you have one of their brethren between you and their fire.
