Ragnarok Online DS Announced, Curiously Missing the Whole "Online" Thing

XSeed Games has announced a new three player cooperative title for the DS called Raganarok Online DS.  If the name sounds familiar, it's because there's a PC MMO of the same name, minus the DS of course.

The curious thing about Ragnarok Online DS is a severe lack of the whole "online" thing.  Instead the game will support three player co-op via local wi-fi.  Ragnarok has strong focus on character building and crafting, and the DS game will continue that tradition offering numerous job classes.

Staying true to the community and teamwork that the original is based on, Ragnarok Online DSallows players to team up with two other friends wirelessly to take on the Tower of Mirages, which has more than 50 floors, randomly generated maps and completion conditions, and the chance to obtain rare items.  Ragnarok Online DS offers current players of Ragnarok Online a chance to enjoy the same world and addictive gameplay on a portable platform, while people new to the series will enjoy the original epic storyline within an experience optimized for a handheld.

The game is currently slated for a Winter 2009 release, until then, enjoy some screenshots.

I remember trying to play this online only to have to laggiest servers I think I have ever seen, a solid coop title for the DS sounds pretty awesome though .

Yes, accuracy is very important. Normally I don't like weapons that have such low accuracy. I use only Double Anarchy when up cl
