Raven Squad: Operation Hidden Dagger is an upcoming FPS/RTS hybrid game for the PC and Xbox 360. Southpeak Interactive has released a bunch of new screens of the game, showing off the various ways to play. At any time players can switch from a first person view to a traditional top down RTS view for complete control.
Raven Squad is set to feature a two player co-op mode throughout the game's campaign, which could make for some interesting play tactics. The possibilities of teamwork with one player in first person view and the other taking a commanders overview look is really powerful. Imagine being able to call out enemy locations to your teammate before he even sees them. Sounds like a lot of fun to me.
The game is set to be playable at E3 next month, so there should be some decent impressions when the time comes. For now enjoy the handful of screens we've got.
If I had gone there I would've said This will fail badly if it won't have a Co-operative mode. And it has! And I hope the game is very good, because we Hungarians can make fine RTS games, but not FPS ones. We'll see
i'm sure they'll be doing more testing before release. usually studios will bring gamers into the studio (which is why they look locally) for "play testing" which is when the game is pretty polished but they want fresh eyes on it. they basically watch you play the game and take notes as to where you get confused, lost, or utterly fail. those notes help them make the game flow better and keep it tough but not too tough that you're dying all the time. they're not looking for bugs anymore, they're looking at the enjoyment and playability factors.
This was the conversation (well, part of it). He asks (Q) and I answer (A)
Q How long have you been playing games?
A Since the age of 2 (Contra rulz!)
Q What games do you like?
A I like all kind of games
Q Does graphics mean a lot to you?
A Nope, I only see the gameplay value
Q If the controls are odd, what do you say?
A It doesn't matter, if I want to play the game I will learn the controls
He asked some more, but this was the main thing I guess. As you can see I gave the perfect answers for these question, and maybe they tought "This is a Perfect Gamer, no matter what we give to him he'll like it." Well THAT's not true
lol... i'm sure they want constructive criticism rather than "this rox..." when all you're doing is dying and shooting air.
any idea how many candidates there were? is gaming pretty big in hungary (probably a silly question)?
Obviously I would have been the best candidate, but now it doesn't matters.
