New Gears of War 2 Rumors - Yeah 4-Player Co-Op Again

It seems like every week there's a new Gears of War 2 rumor, but this one is a whole set of rumors. According to Neocrisis, Epic held a friends and family day where the folks got some hands on time with Gears of War 2 as well as some new information.
So of course, the first "confirmation" is that the game will indeed have 4-player co-op. What might come as a shocker though is who exactly people will be playing. You see, according to Neocrisis, the game is broken up into 4 acts with each act containing 6 chapters. At some point in the game though, you'll switch from a squad of Marcus, Dizzy, Carmine, and Colonol Hoffman to a squad of Dom, Cole, Baird, and Tai.
There are some other tidbits of info, some details on some multiplayer maps and such. There's also one final huge piece of info - apparently a character from Gears of War 1 will die in Gears of War 2.
Again take allt his with a huge grain of salt, but to us right now it all sounds perfectly plausible. I don't expect any real bit of confirmation of any Gears 2 info to come until E3, which falls on July 13th this year.

As a split-screener I'm indifferent to 4-player co-op. Even on a 40" widescreen TV, splitting the viewing area up into 4 parts makes things borderline unplayable. I think of this as more of an online feature than a local co-op feature.
