Diablo 3 May Yet Spawn on Consoles

Jim "txshurricane" McLaughlin August 25th, 2009 at 9:00 AM

According to CCO Paul Sams, Blizzard wants to make their games on consoles as well as the PC platform. In fact, Diablo 3 is the first to be considered, thanks to pressure from disc manufacturers who want more pie to take a piece from.

We've seen that modern hack'n'slash RPGs can be handled just fine with console controllers, and much of our community here is console-oriented... What do you think, Co-Optimers? Would you rather have Diablo 3 on a console or your PC and why?

Personally, I don't care which; either way, it's going to give Peggle a run for its money.

I would rather it on Consoles - simple reason being that the people I want to play with don't have good enough PCs.

That, and that (imo) console gaming is far more comfortable than PC gaming i.e. sitting on sofa etc..etc...

It´s a fact: Blizzard wants Diablo 3 on consoles. Blizzard wants to have more money and expands its horizons.

Seeing how well Sacred 2 plays on a controller, Diablo 3 will not disappoint.

Since last year, when blizzard first commented on Diablo 3 on consoles, I knew they were about to make it. I am just know awaiting for an official announcement

I would LOVE to get Diablo on the consoles. I dont play PC games, so I would only get to play it if it came out for the PS3. Sacred 2 ended up playing better on the console, so I'd imagine that it would be very possible (and profitable) to bring Diablo there also.

I want Diablo 3 on the PC and I will buy it, but if it also releases on PS3 and Xbox 360, I will be buying a 2nd copy as well.

Would rather have it on the pc. Got the computer to run it and its better suited for that medium in my opinion. But right now I dont care as long as I get the game!

Blizzard, for me, is like Valve. It belongs only one place.

Blizzard has been on consoles before my friend... a lot. And Valve has made a killing on console sales. What an odd thing to say...

Anyways, I would get it for console over PC. Mostly to avoid any loss in frames because my PC isn't exactly the highest quality.

Split screen could work provided you have a decent sized tv. Using the same frame would lead to a great many deaths.

if it had couch coop split screen i would buy it in a second, if not PC, but id probably get it for console also anyway

Console all the way. I gave up on PC gaming in the late 90s as it was costing me so much to upgrade all the time.

The game would work perfectly on the 360 as Sacred 2 has shown. This game would have a lot more polish and could be immense.

I've played them all diablo I & II, darkstone, sacred I & II, champions of norrath, baldurs gate dark alliance I & II etc. I think these games work better on console. I always thought dark alliance played better than diablo on pc. Mouse has only 2 buttons...

I bought my x360 just a few months ago, it's much cheaper than buying a new pc that could run games 3 years later. Besides I hate what they've done with pc-game copy protections (bioshock, half life 2 etc), installations take some times hours (half life 2), and the games rarely work right without driver updates & tuning. I kinda hoped diablo 3 would be released on x360 some day, just like Alan Wake.

If it did come out on consoles, I'd buy it on there. If it didn't, I'd buy it for the computer but, most likely struggle with how it'll run. That's my main problem with pc games. When you buy a new game, you have to upgrade your computer, unless you have an awesome computer, which most people don't have. So instead of spending fifty or sixty bucks, you're spending a couple hundred to play one game.
