Only 35 'World Tour' Tracks Importable Into Guitar Hero 5

Guitar Hero 5 hit the streets yesterday, and now we now a bit more about the game.  We were specifically curious about the import features.  Rock Band 2 supported the import of the Rock Band disc songs last year.  We loved this feature, and when it was announced that it was finally being added to Guitar Hero, we were quite pleased.  Last night, I was unable to contact the servers to try the import, but USA Today has the info. Edit: Updated information below.

Immediately, players can import 35 songs from Guitar Hero World Tour for 280 points on Xbox Live and $3.50 on the PlayStation Network. Later this fall, songs from Guitar Hero Smash Hits can be imported, too.

Ten cents a song sounds fairly reasonable., and is only slightly higher than the $5 for 55 deal in Rock Band 2.  The troubling part, for me at least, is that 35 songs is barely over a third of the World Tour disc tracks.  I was hoping more of the songs would be available for import into the new and vastly improved GH5 engine.  Perhaps more songs will be available at a later date?  We'll keep you posted on any further developments.

Update: According to Shacknews, more World Tour songs will eventually be importable for those who paid the $3.50 import fee.

When I saw the x-play feature on GH5 they mentioned backwards compatibility, I got the impression both World Tour and Smash Hits would be able to import. A fee didn't even cross my mind, but I forgot about the 5.00 fee for Rock Band 1 to 2.

GH5 is fun and has some new fun multiplayer but I still see problems with a few tracks. Just seems like not a company wanting to put out a quality music game and really for me the bad tracks are totally un-fun even as a button pressing game.
GH5 makes Smash Hits "2" bad tracks I found a joy because so far I'm half way through the GH5 game and found quite a few questionable tracks not to mention some strange song selections that are not "Guitar" songs at all. The poorly charted tracks in GH5 were at least twice as bad as the 2 from Smash Hits. I think the two worst GH5 offenders were the Stones song and the Bob Dylan "Watchtower" both crap to play. I didn't like the song choice of Fame by Bowie, What? over Rebel Rebel and Surfragette. To borrow a line from Wendy's we should yell "Where's the guitar?"

Still again, I just have to overlook that and I'll be keeping this game, there is alot to go through, alot of replay and still has plenty of great music, party fun etc. Not to mention that I really wanted GH VH anyway and was willing to pay full price so GH5 for free, sweeeeet.

I never talk when I play online on COD. No one really says anything worth listening to, or no one talks whatsoever.
Part of me wants to crop the second picture you took, and add text. Something simple, like "Oh geez. . ." It's got the perfect f
