Welcome to Beyond Co-Op, a weekly piece that talks about industry stories that may or may not be related to co-op gaming.
The stories for this week:
- PAX, PAX and more PAX
- Lots of Releases this Week
PAX, PAX and more PAX
With PAX going on this weekend, the news this week has been few and far between. I just ask that you continue looking at Co-Optimus for the staff’s reports from the floor. I also ask that you check out sister site Colony of Gamers for coverage as well. Both sites are working very much in conjunction with each other to give maximum coverage of the event.

Lots of Releases this Week
The September Tsunami begins this week. Beatles: Rock Band, DiRT 2, Darkest of Daysand Mini-Ninjas all come out this week. The Beatles game will of course probably get the most attention, but if you aren’t a Beatles fan (and there are people out there who don’t like them) there are other things to choose from. The original DiRT was a good game, so chances are the sequel will be as well. I am also intrigued by Darkest of Days considering there has been massive advertisements for it on television and I had never heard of the game until a little while ago. It obviously has something to do with time since you are put into some of the major battles in history. May be something to check out.

yeah i think everyone here is wanting to be at PAX right now, myself included
Nice sources btw.
Off topic, did the spambots figure out that the Co-optistaff are all at PAX?
Yeah, roland, everyone is talking about Beatles Rock Band...it's getting pretty big.
I agree. The whole legal issues would have made it impossible for them to just DLC onto existing RB or GH games. Also, I think they did enough with it to constitute its own game. As far as I know, its the only one that scores players for singing in harmony, and its chock full of extras for fans, which is who its definitely marketed to.
I'm lagging slightly, but I'm catching up!
