We've gotten our hands on a shiny new video of Borderlands in action during the game's 2 player split screen co-op mode. While we're still waiting on confirmation of the PC version containing the same co-op mode, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners will be able to enjoy the company of friend next to them on the couch as they blow away bandits with 1 of three million weapons.

We're still a month away from release on the title, and videos like this make the way excruciating.

I think the official response at last count was no splitscreen-online at release, but Gearbox is looking to patch it in.

Thats what I heard last time, but Bap has said in the Pax preview that they said it had online split, I dont think we ever saw a response on the confirmation after that.

I'm not seeing much blood... I am a gore hound and probably wouldn't see enough blood if it covered the entire screen and they were wading through 6 feet of it... but really, I'm not seeing any here.

Would be great to find out, since this game is a sureshot for me, but splitscreen WITH online co-op would make it a certain buy for my brother and some friends as well.

Looking forward to this title a lot... the latest previews only made that more so.

I'm wondering if sprint is class specific or available to everyone, I hate not being able to sprint in HALO and appreciate that they added it. Thanks for the vid I am hoping that switching weapons is quick and easy, it looked like it. Also was he throwing the empty clips at enemies?? That is great achievment material if so.

i guess we'll find out soon enough. i'm getting it either way but its going to be difficult trying to find time to play it if my wife and i can't play it with my brothers.

mike neumann is a great guy but #borderlandsmonday is just worthless. i don't know if its him or PR telling him to answer the ridiculous questions and nothing else. sounds like he's pretty busy w/ other things too.

Nick you sure know what we like to see! lol.

This is at least a great confirmation that split screen will fill the entire screen instead of doing the weird box thing that other games like RE5 and COD5 have been doing.

oh forgot to ask... is it possible to do horizontal split screen for those of us stuck in the stone age with our 4:3 SDTVs?

According to PR the videos have the blood toned down because otherwise it's a PITA to get through the ESRB rating process for them.

If you read the description of the full game, you'll see it's going to be brutal.

Ah. I knew it was rated Mature for good reasons and those censored videos got me all hot and bothered. So when I thought this was some real "uncensored" game footage I was a little let down. Makes sense now though, thanks.

hmmm... i wonder if that feature made it to the user-accessible settings.

its really a shame when they leave that type of stuff out. obviously they have a way to tone things down from the debug interface, it can't be hard to map a slider or radio buttons to various pre-sets. hopefully they included it.

Jeez, whoever was playing as Lilith in that video needs to learn to use cover. =P

Looks neat. I haven't seen any co-op footage with two of the same character, though; does every player need to choose a different character? If so, dibs on Mordecai.

I'm guessing that it's just the vertical split, otherwise I would have hoped they would have shown both. I would actually prefer the horizontal split even on my widescreen. After getting used to a horizontal split on GoW, I found I liked it tons more in general.

no. Everyone can choose whichever character they want. You could have 4 of the same character class playing at the same time.
