- Tales of Monkey Island Episode 1 Free Today

- Facts Build on Wii Drop to $199 on September 27

- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves to Tweet Trophy, Multiplayer and Single-Player Accomplishments

BioShock 2 Out February 9, 2010

BioShock 2 received its second release date just yesterday. It is scheduled to come out on February 9, 2010 worldwide. I’m getting a bit worried about this game now that there are four different developers working on it. At one point this was all 2K Marin, now other ones have been brought in to take care of the multiplayer section as well as back up 2K Marin. This is one of the first announced dates for games that got pushed from Q4 2009 to Q1 2010. I would expect to see more dates soon from other games.

Tales of Monkey Island Episode 1 Free Today

In honor of Talk like a Pirate Day today, Telltale is giving away the first episode of Tales of Monkey Island free on their website at this link. Along with this LucasArts is also giving the remake of the original Secret of Monkey Island a 50% off deal on iPhone, iPod Touch, Steam and Direct2Drive through September 21. I haven’t played the new episodic game, but will be checking out the opening episode. As said in a previous Beyond Co-Op, I consider the original Monkey Island game to be one of the best adventure games ever.

Facts Build on Wii Drop to $199 on September 27

You’ve probably seen the ad pictures that have been floating around for a Wii price drop coming on September 27. Pictures from the Target and Best Buy ad popped up this week, building the case that the Wii will indeed see a price drop to $199 by the end of this month. The Wii desperately needs the price drop since it is selling over 50% less than it did a year ago. There also isn’t a lot of big games coming for the Wii either, so a lower price point may make the system more enticing to those sitting on the fence.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves to Tweet Trophy, Multiplayer and Single-Player Accomplishments

In what I would guess is an answer to the Twitter connection Microsoft will be putting into Xbox Live, the final build of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves sent to reviewers this week had a Twitter option on the menu. It has been figured out that you can allow the game to post Trophies, when you jump on multiplayer, multiplayer accomplishments and the finishing of a single-player level to your Twitter account if you so wish. Sounds cool, although I’m not sure I want to be Tweeting about such things.

Halo 3: ODST Stands on Top of Releases this Week

There is one other notable release this week, that being the MMO Aion, but this week is free of releases to make room for the juggernaut of Halo 3: ODST coming out on Tuesday. One thing I will note is that there hasn’t been a ton of hype behind this game and it is kind of surprising. I think the game will be good, but I think a lot of people feel burned by it going from a more expansion like release to a full fledged game. One would guess it needs to be as long as Halo 3 for people to feel the payoff, but then again there is the Firefight co-op mode and the free Halo Reach beta play. Co-Optimus will have a review up this weekend of the game. Any of you picking this game up?
