Co-Op Release Alert: Supreme Commander, Guitar Hero DS, Rock Band Wii and more!

Like the saying goes, when it rains it pours, and this week it's pouring co-op games for just about every platform.
There are two titles on the Xbox 360, both strategy games, though vastly different in their execution. Operation Darkness from Atlus is a turn based fantasy strategy game with a great visual style and co-op play for 4 players. Supreme Commander from Gas Powered Games is a RTS game adapted from its PC counterpart release last year. The game features 3 player co-op via a online skirmish mode.
Next up we have two titles on Nintendo systems, both Rhythm games. See the trend here? Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS is the first mobile version of the Guitar Hero franchise and features a "guitar grip" addon for your DS. The game supports two player co-op via local wi-fi. Lastly we have Rock Band for the Wii. In the better late than never category Wii owners finally get to experience the 4-player co-op magic of Rock Band.
As always, the Co-Op Release Alerts are sponsored by TheWeeklyRelease.com, where you can find all of this week's game releases.
Oh I know it is, but it'll be interesting to see how they implement the co-op.

I don't know if I'd be singing the praises of Operation Darkness. From all accounts, it's mediocre at best. And that's coming from tactical RPG fans who don't expect the moon.
