Operation Flashpoint 2 Goes Gold, New Screens and Trailers to Excite You

Codemasters has announced that Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising has gone gold and will hit retailers on October 6th.   With Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions, everyone will get their chance to jump in on the four player co-op action.

Along with that announcement comes brand new screenshots and two new trailers.  The first trailer talks a bit about the effects system in the game for things like fire and smoke, but there is a bit in there that talks about how players can communicate in co-op using different colored smoke.  That in itself seems pretty unique.

The second trailer shows off a mission called Eagle.  It's action packed and fill with music that would do well in a Michael Bay film.

Wow, the colored smoke is great! We used to mark enemy positions with red smoke grenades in SOCOM II.

Nice...I thought this was pushed back to 2010 for some reason.

Looking forward to playing this if Borderlands lets me.

I never talk when I play online on COD. No one really says anything worth listening to, or no one talks whatsoever.
Part of me wants to crop the second picture you took, and add text. Something simple, like "Oh geez. . ." It's got the perfect f
