Leaked Left 4 Dead 2 Trailer...Just...Wow.

Jim "txshurricane" McLaughlin October 22nd, 2009 at 6:11 PM

This screenshot does the leaked Left 4 Dead 2 high-quality trailer no justice whatsoever. Effectively trumping every zombie movie trailer ever made, not only is the video shockingly awesome, you can't help remember that you will be playing these scenarios with your co-op friends in less than a month.

Alright, enough talk! The game hits stores November 17th. The trailer is embedded below and at this link.

That is unbelievably well done. They really need to do longer stuff -- everyone's always goofed around at the idea of a "Team Fortress 2 movie" or "Left 4 Dead movie", showing either (In TF2), one team's struggle to get the Intel, or (in L4D) how the survivors got where they started, and then 5 little movies that lead to safety. . .

After seeing that, I have got to wonder why they don't. Hell, if they were that well done, and a reasonable price for their length. . . I know I'd even pay a bit to watch/download it.

So this is where Valve's 25 million dollar budget on advertising has gone...

Making their trailers better than most film trailers

As much as I still hold a grudge against Valve on their treatment of the first L4D game, it didn't prevent me from pre-ordering L4D2 last week. If I hadn't then, this trailer would have done the trick.

Its a pretty cool trailer, I suppose...except for the part of making me want to play any more L4D. As far as I could tell it was just 'here are some cinematics', not a whole lot(if any) 'here's some cool game-play'. Like say the Uncharted 2 trailers or even the Borderlands trailer.

And side note, as cool as the trailer is, it isn't exactly blowing me away as far as graphical quality or detail(I know that's not L4D's trademark)...and it was mostly cut-scene material. That doesn't say much for the game itself.

I hope this works with Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars. There's a lot of multiplayer goodness to have in it.
