Our Weekend in Gaming - Borderlands Edition

Ok, so maybe only a few of the staff are playing Borderlands, but I can guarantee you the rest wishes they were.

Nick "bapenguin" Puleo - "Borderlands and then some Borderlands.  But probably some Borderlands.  I do plan on checking out some more CitiesXL and finishing Brutal Legend.  Then perhaps some Borderlands."

Marc "DjinniMan" Allie - "This weekend, it's all about new content for older games: the Duels of the Planeswalkers expansion, the Queen Rock Band pack, and Abbey Road!"

Katrina "ShadokatRegn" Pawlowski - "I'll be wrapping up some beyond co-op with Star Wars: Force Unleashed, as well as caving to the peer pressure and getting in on some Borderlands action at some point soon."

Mike "pheriannath" Katsufrakis - "I'll be playing some more Persona for PSP, some co-op matches in Uncharted 2, and put in some more time on the Final Fantasy 12 replay I foolishly decided to start with Dragon Age looming on the horizon."

Jason "OrigamiPanther" Love - "It's a bit of a birthday extravaganza this weekend as my family celebrates my parents' and brother-in-law's glorious entrances into the world. If I do get a chance to play a game, I'll probably play some Skate 2 in preparation for something special for Co-Optimus."

Jim "txshurricane" McLaughlin - "I plan on picking up Skate 2 as well. I'll almost surely play some CoD 4: Modern Warfare at some point, and maybe a few songs on family favorite Guitar Hero 5. Oh, and -- I need to keep working on the Operation Flashpoint 2 campaign, if anyone's up for it"

Loren "AgtFox" Halek - "Going to attempt to finish Brutal Legend and possibly go back and play Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, its PSN sequel Quest for Booty and CoD4: Modern Warfare all to get ready for their new iterations I'll probably have to review."

What are your gaming plans for this weekend?

Got a friend coming over one of these nights, and possibly spending the night. We're looking to be doing a lot of Borderlands. I really don't have anything else I'll play much; too much fun.

Ah HA! I knew there was a reason I needed an Xbox points card; I need to pick up that Magic TG expansion as well. Thanks for the reminder, Marc!

You are all horrible people. If my wife hadn't been with me at the store tonight, I'd have caved in and bought Borderlands.

Just got done with a Dev co-op session. Check out the Xbox360 Borderlands thread for details!

People say marriage is a wonderful thing.

And then you hear about this kind of stuff.

Not too much gaming this weekend. Today Im helping one of my friends renovate his house, so not much gaming there. Tomorrow I will be back home, but will be swamped in homework. Any gaming time will be devoted to Borderlands for sure.

I checked out Borderlands. Not quite as open as I had hoped, and the terrain seems to be pretty fixed from what I've seen so far; despite the original claim that the terrain would be among the things to be procedurally generated.

Either way, I'm hating how it makes grinding a necessity. It's a keeper, but not at full price. I'm returning it and waiting until it drops in price.

The wait until Monday is AGONIZING.

However, my version will be "prettier".

Where they changed their minds about the changing landscape. That hasn't even been mentioned since 2008 or so. But enemy & loot respawns are generated on the fly.

You really should find out what they are promising with the game when it's closer to release. Prototype had co-op up until a year from release. Things changed, but they never said that it would be there since the art-style change.

I never talk when I play online on COD. No one really says anything worth listening to, or no one talks whatsoever.
