Xbox 360 System Update adds WPA2 Wireless Support

You may have received a system update when firing up your Xbox 360 console last night, but don't get excited, it isn't THE update.  You know, the one with Twitter, Facebook, and Last.FM support.

Instead the update is for users of the Xbox Live Wireless Adapter.  It adds WPA2 encryption support to it's settings allowing for more compatibility with home networks.  We have to think that releasing such a small and minor update now, means the widespread release of the bigger update is still a few weeks away.

Did it really have to take 15 minutes to download an update adding in basic wireless capability?

i don't know a whole lot about xbox 360's OS but i would guess that its a pretty unified architecture and possibly even encrypted so making a change at the device driver level to add WPA2 capabilities would require downloading a large chunk of the OS even if the change was minor. so yes, it could take a while.

So if you already have the adapter and its already working fine, then does the update get you anything at all?

there are probably other fixes. probably nothing you'd notice unless they've fixed some bug you've been experiencing.

I bought TMNT, and tried Invisible Tiger - I think I would buy it for 400 not 800. I used the old school 3D glasses with it; pr
