Dead Space Extraction Slithering onto LIVE and PSN?

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

Like a strange alien creature that was once the dinner lady, the latest news about the Dead Space franchise could be described as missing a few limbs.  Rumors are abound that the fun on-rails co-op shooter Dead Space Extraction is being adapted to High Definition for LIVE and PSN.  Despite disappointing sales, we at Co-Optimus think it is a great game and I personally rate it as one of the best games I have played on the Wii.

The news was discovered by Kotaku through uncovered surveys conducted by EA.  The surveys suggest that a port of the title is in the works and that the gameplay would remain the same.  A major element of the game was the ability to play through it in co-op, so hopefully it will still be includedThe survey also mentions a tentative price point of $15 and a further Dead Space spin off called Planet Cracker, a resource management game with no mention of any form of co-op (yet).

Could EA use these two downloadable games as pre-order incentives?  With Dead Space 2 having been recently announced as a first quarter 2011 game, unfortunately we have a while to find out.  With the game being so reliant on motion controls perhaps this is one for the Natal and PS3 Wand (insert latest rumored name here).

This means I could potentially get the chainsaw from my back garden, have natal recognize the shape and use that as a weapon within the game - where my actions are translated into in-game actions.

I wonder if I'd have to have the chainsaw running... would probably put those 'Wii-Accidents' to shame!!!

I loved Dead Space, and I love rail shooters on the Wii. However, I wasnt a fan of Extraction for some reason. Granted, I played Extraction BEFORE I played the original, so maybe I should go back and give it another go.

Lol at your comment Zonf86!

BTW I've heard another rumour that says 'Dead Space 2 won't come out on PC'

sounds interesting but how would natal be able to tell when you're pulling the trigger of your fake/imaginary gun (or real gun in jim's case)? its seems like the technology would have difficulty with small movements like that. if they can pull it off, i'll be impressed and very excited.

I'd buy that for $15 and I'm all for some of the more interesting Wii exclusives coming over to the other consoles.
