More Borderlands DLC Planned

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

Gearbox are hoping that you are not bored of Borderlands yet as they are planning more DLC after the three pieces made available so far.  The recently released The Secret Armory of General Knox  upped the level cap and has received critical praise.  We at Co-Optimus felt that it was perhaps the first piece of DLC for the game that actually felt like a true expansion.  It must be selling well as Take Two CEO, Ben Feder, has been quoted as saying that they, "will continue to support the game with added content".  No news yet of what this will entail, but with the DLC getting better each time, Borderlands is a game that continues to improve.  A retail version of the early DLC is coming to the shelves soon and with over three million copies of the game sold since release there are plenty of people out there who might be interested.  Let us hope that this influx of DLC is an indication that many more future co-op games will be supported after their initial release date.

Great news. I'm glad they are still supporting the game. Perhaps an even higher level cap raise next DLC?

I assume that they will - 61 seems like an odd number at the moment. My problem with DLC and current games is that you never know if they will support the game - I often trade a game in thinking that no DLC is coming.

Glad that they are keeping it on, I just have to wait till they release it all on the disc or the GOTY edition.

well, good news indeed! On the level cap, one of the guys doing PC mods for it says there is provision in the code for a level of 100. Maybe we'll see that! But I'd like to see some updates to the game, and not just more DLC. Mainly scaling the original areas so they match our level of 61. Going back to battle the Rakk Hive is way too easy now...

I'd really like to see a DLC that was themed around boss/lair raiding. For example, imagine a DLC where there were around eight branching zones off the main zone. Each of these zones would be a lair with boss at the end (ie Dr. Ned's lair at the end of Zombie Island) where there would be a big climactic fight requiring multiple players to team up to win. These bosses would ALWAYS drop a purple or higher loot drop equal to the level of the host (with certain loot drops only being available this way). Even better would be multiple lesser (soloable) bosses you'd encounter before running into the main bad guy. These lairs would be designed so that they could be run over and over (although quest XP would only be given the first time) so that players could meet up and plan to run a certain lair together without having to worry about who's on what quest.

Eh... that sounds a lil too WOWish... it's a nice idea, just not sure if it would catch on.. people would wnat exp everytime they did the quests and also, they might give you the cop-out answer and say that's what moxxi's underdome is for

What he's describing is basically a dungeon crawl, which, while similar to most MMOs, is the type of gameplay that Diablo thrives on. Mainly because it works very well with the kind of loot system Diablo and Borderlands both use. I'm not sure Borderlands could manage random dungeon layouts though.

Am I the only one who wants Athena as a playable character!?

i was sitting on the toliet taking a shit when it hit me like a bold of lighning..

New DLCs flushing out each chartacter. The Knoxx DLC seams to flush out Moxxi's character a bit and zombie island flushed out Zed's a lil bit. So what if DLCs came out that flushed out the other characters, like one for each of them that would give them shitloads of missions that revealed more aboot each of them, cuz I for one would love to know more aboot Mordicai. Problem is, they're offworlders so it might actully have to be like 4 new games, or a MASSIVE DLC to flush them out.

But chances are, it'll just be a DLC that gives you walkthrough 3 and lets you drive those cars anywhere, any other DLCs are just gonna leave less for the sequal which is pretty much gurenteed with the game sucess, or Some avatar awards, cuz I want a bloodwing or borderlands logo shirt to unlock. And I know that some of the ladies would ot have liliths outfit and tatoos and the guys some of the characters outfits. there is sooo much to do with them. near endless stuff could be done with mercandising, it all depends on what the Devs wanna do. maybe we could finlay get that online splitscreen co-op, or it could be included in the special edition of the game that they might release with the Other 3 dlcs inclided, it would probly have to be a 2 disk game( not that I mind)

Sooo much that could be done...

On the thought of avatar items...I'd love an RC Runner/Lancer/Monster/Racer. Also cool shirts like the Borderlands logo and maybe an awesome hat! Or a claptrap that runs around you...I dunno but it would be great!

That is exactly what I would want to see.

That was one of my favorite things about WoW was dungeon Raiding.
