Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Co-Op on iOS

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

Good news, iGamers!  Co-Optimus has recently confirmed that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light has co-op on the iPhone and iPad.  We loved this isometric action title, which got a great co-op review.  The iOS versions are identical to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade versions, minus the DLC.  Co-op is available through wi-fi between any of the devices - that means iPhone gamers can play with iPad gamers and vice versa.

Players can team up as either gun-toting Lara or spear-slinging Totec for some co-op puzzle-platformer action.  RPG elements will keep you coming back for more.  Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is available now for $6.99 on iPhone and $9.99 on iPad.

I was just looking at the game about 5 minutes before logging into cooptimus. It seems to have pretty solid user ratings as well. $6.99 is pretty steep for an igame (although some are priced at $9.99+), most you will see range from free-$2.99 or $4.99 for the top tier titles (COD: Zombies, even madden 11 is 90% off right now down to 99cents as most other EA titles). So unless this gets alot of attention here, I'm going to hold off purchasing it until there is a nice price drop to the cost of 3 dollar items at Mcdonalds.

$0 considering I have an ipod touch. And a lot of the top tier titles go on sale frequently thankfully, which keeps it competitive for other apps. Even the newest Need for Speed Hot Pursuit app is only 99c --on sale currently--.

I have an iPhone, so I can understand where aeiah is coming from, and yet the small screen and the generally bite-sized nature of iPhone/Touch gaming contributes to the perception that iOS games should be cheap. (Not sure about iPad games, since I don't have one, but the feeling may be different there.) I'm sure some people feel differently, but if I want to sit down and game, I'm going to fire up my PS3. If I want a couple minutes of light distraction, maybe I'll launch something on my phone. Very few iOS games have actually grabbed me enough to play seriously. Very few.

I have 538 apps, 85% of which are games(I've had my ipod just over a year), I just purged about a hundred out last month. I believe an iOS device is like gold when you're out and about, or when I'm at home and don't feel like holding a controller/M&KB. Last month when I was stuck at the airport during 4 hours of delays, I was solidly entertained the entire time, while others were pacing back and forth, thank god for noise cancelling headphones as well.

I believe I purchased this game on PSN for $15. Worth. Every. Penny. I gotta say it's pretty awesome to see this on iOS. $7 is very reasonable for a very well made game.
