Microsoft announced yesterday that when Grand Theft Auto IV for the PC comes out on November 18th of this year that its multiplayer component will exclusively use Games for Windows Live and include such things as achievements and an off-line marketplace related to the game.

Sam Houser, co-founder of Rockstar, explains it like this: "As we work toward the release of the PC version, Games for Windows Live affords us the opportunity to seamlessly translate the multiplayer console experience for PC gamers.  The service is a natural fit for the platform and we strongly believe it will help in building a strong online community around GTA IV PC."

Sounds pretty cool, anyone been waiting for this game to come out on PC or have you already gone through the console versions and don't want to go through again?  Looks like any co-op will need to be done via the now FREE GFW Live.
