Moon Diver Coming to PSN First, Plus New Screens, New Art

Moon Diver will be gracing the PlayStation Network with its presence before making an appearance on the Xbox Live Arcade.  The title has been touted as a spiritual successor to the classic action game, Strider.  This is mostly due to the involvement of director Kouichi Yotsui, who was a creative lead on the original Strider.  For those of you who are too young to remember the Strider, (curse you and your youth) the game centered around Hiryu, a member of a specially trained group of ninja warriors known as "Striders."  In this latest title, the world has gone to hell, and the only ones who can fix it are a new group of specially trained ninjas called, you guessed it, "Moon Divers."

Moon Diver launches tomorrow, March 29th, on the PlayStation Network.  If you prefer Achievements over Trophies, you can pick it up for the Xbox Live Arcade later in April.  The game supports 4 player co-op, either locally or online.  You can check out a trailer for the title here.  You can also read on to see a list of the game's features, plus some swanky new screenshots and fancy artwork.

The Diver System allows players to jump in or out at any time, for a maximum of up to four players total. Guest players are awarded experience points for helping out.

Combos increase in power and intensity according to the number of players. Collect new combo moves by picking them up on the map or fulfilling certain requirements.

Adjust the difficulty level at any time with the Chaos Accelerator. Higher levels are rewarded with enhanced visuals and greater experience points. Players set the challenge rating as they see fit.

12 stages to explore and master.

Up to four player local and online co-op.

Online multiplayer.
