Friends, Romans, Countrymen: How 'Bout Some Gears?

Marc "DjinniMan" Allie October 03rd, 2008 at 12:23 PM

Gears of War is the perennial champion of co-op games in our database, with an impressive rating of 4.3 stars, with 95 votes.  Even by another name, it would still be sweet.  It's understandable, then, that news of the upcoming sequel is to us, like a light breaking through yonder window.  First off, scans of the manual have popped up, full of the stuff that dreams are made on.  There's not a lot of new info here, but still, seeing an entire section about chainsaw duels has us thinking such thoughts as would make one get to a nunnery.

Also of note is a video about the Achievement Tracker.  You'll not protest too much, methinks, when you view the full video embedded after the break.  I should also note that I tried my best to come up with an "Alas, poor Yorick" joke, given the game's logo, but I failed.  Frailty, thy name is DjinniMan.  Clearly, something's rotten in the state of my mind.

Cool video. Lots of explosions, keeps you on your toes.
Any news yet about the Best Buy pre-order? The RC tank, I mean.

The achievement trackers looks a lot like the ones in the Orange Box, specifically in the Half-Life 2 games. I can dig it, it's not in the way or anything.
