TMNT: Turtles Running Out of Time, Being Pulled from XBLA and PSN

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

It seems that Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo and Leonardo are running out of time.  Like other digital content, it seems that the game isn't meant to live forever.  According to Ubisoft, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Reshelled is being pulled from the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network on June 30th due to an "expiring license."  This only appears to affect the US region.

This means you have less than one week to get your hands on a solid four player co-op beat em up starring your favorite 80's turtle characters.  Bummer dude.

Two questions

1. Will the servers cease to exist as well, making the game unplayable online?

2. At least as far as the PS3 goes, if I was to delete the game to make room on my drive and then go to install it after it's pulled from the PSN store, will I be able to re-download it? It should technically be in my "purchases" section, but I don't know if that means I'll be able to download it again or not.

It's a peer to peer game, so that won't matter.

I know from 360 games that have previously been removed that you could redownload them again if you already owned them - not sure about the PS3 though, sorry.

@BigBadBob113

If you've added something to your download list on PS Store, you can download it later even if it's been removed from the store. The Resident Evil 5 demo is no longer downloadable (at least on the AU store) but I can get it any time still.

Ok, this 'expiring licence' crap along with digitally distributed items needs to end. If I'm just 'renting' the game while it's available, I don't want to pay full price for something.

Stuff should not be put up for digital distribution if it's on a licence that can expire.

--- Replying to Plastic Rat -----

The way I look at it is a marketing scheme. What they expect from now on when they put something on the marketplace that users will buy it quickly for fear of it vanishing into thin air. I mean look at the MUA2 DLC thing, this is a scheme to get people to buy DLC day one for fear of never being able to acquire it I just don't buy the whole the license is going to expire BS because they had already made it prior to the license going away.
