Army of Two Video Review

Nicholas "bapenguin" Puleo March 7th, 2008 at 11:41 AM

While we plan on posting our own review of EA's Army of Two sometime next week, we figured what better way to kick off the weekend than with Gametrailer's excellent 8 minute long video review.

The review highlights just how good the co-op is.  That is, playing with a friend yields rewarding gameplay and re-playability.  Playing with the AI is just downright frustrating at times.   One thing many people might not realize is the level of customization available in the game, whether it's customizing your characters appearance, or customizing a weapon to use.

The full video is posted after the jump.

Played it last night for just over an hour with my friend. Great fun. Only issue I have so far is in combined maneuvers or other actions using the action button. There's quite the delay between pressing the button and getting a reaction out of the game.

Other than that, the weapons felt great, movement felt great. Horizontal split threw me off a little, but I adapted. Wish there was a one button grenade throw...but I can't have everything...until next week when RB6 comes out

Overall...felt like a lot of fun. Played with my Kane & Lynch buddy and we fell right back into it again

This is yet another one of those games that I would buy in a heartbeat if it was half the cost. I'm still easing my way into the online/multiplayer aspect of gaming in general as I've long been a singleplayer gamer.

I'll still give this a rent in the next week or two and take it for a whirl. It sounds like a great game, if not completely up my alley.

Oh...it's definitely worth a rental...but probably not full price. Though, I will admit I haven't had a lot of time with it. Like I found with Kane & Lynch, this game is just guilty fun...not completely polished, some very strange design choices (weird "pull you out of the action" cut-scenes)...but good fun

We tried it yesterday - finished it in about 6 hours and it is VERY good coop good. I can still see where it could improve (Army of 2 2? ), but overall it is one of the best coop games available on Xbox360.
