Happy 10th Birthday Xbox! What's Your Favorite Co-Op Game?

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

Ten years ago today Microsoft changed the console war from a battle between two, to a battle between three.  The Xbox, a big black box loaded with a "duke" controller became a staple of hardcore gamers.  It contained a hard drive and a network connection, and it was the beginning of a big change for consoles.  The system saw many great co-op games over it's life span, though none may be more iconic than the one it launched with in Halo.

The Xbox ushered in Xbox Live one year later, and despite it's official death last April, many of the co-op games on the system are still playable via System Link and/or Couch Co-Op.

To celebrate the system's birthday we want to know which co-op game on the Xbox 1 was your favorite.  Perhaps you can tell us why in the comments section.  There's a lot to choose from, so choose wisely!

Wow, That was a tough choice but I had to go with Splinter Cell. It's still one of my faves.

I could sum up Xbox 1 in a single word, though it would not be coop friendly Blood Gultch

Otherwise I enjoyed Brute Force and Crimson Skies afair bit in the day.

There was a 3-way battle before Microsoft joined the console race. Wasn't it Microsoft's decision to join the business what prompted SEGA to leave the space?

I never played an Xbox until I played the 360 last year at PAX East. I went from NES to Sega Genesis to PlayStation 1, and stuck with Sony for the PS2 and PS3. I can say that my favorite 360 co-op game is Left 4 Dead. I didn't get into the sequel for some reason, but the first one is solid!

I'm on but I don't go on too often. Plus the way finances have been I decided not to renew my Gold account since I rarely play on there.

I hear ya. I didn't renew mine either. If I get a new one it will be 3 month cards at a time.

Too hard to pick a favorite, but I'm with ^ for now. Still stuck on Battlefront.

I would have to put Baldur's Gate as my number one. That was the first game I played co-op with my GF and she still hasn't bothered to leave me! Result!

I have to go with "other" SpikeOutBattlestreet (also known as the most underrated xbox game in existence). I'm disappointed that the 360 STILL hasnt got a game like this available, and they never made it backwards compatible either.

Some great Co-Op games there. We still play Baldur's Gate, HP and Battlefront from time to time. I think Time Splitters 3 should've made the list though. It had a lot of variety, tons of humor and good gameplay.

Halo is the most obvious favourite for me, since Halo has been in my whole 360 lifespan ever since I got my 360. It never gets old no matter how much I play it.

Of course even though that has been my favourite, there are a couple other titles that I have enjoyed greatlly for co-op play such with the Gears Of War series & Splinter Cell: Conviction as well. Them both games have brought some fun times for co-op.

My favorite 4-player coop game is Conflict Global Storm/Terror.
As for 2-player coop, Battlefront wins by a narrow margin.
