Borderlands 2 to Get Some PC Love

Claptrap woos PC gamers with a love letter

If you played the first Borderlands on PC, you'll know that it wasn't exactly frustration-free. For example, getting people into a lobby together was often a problem, and players couldn't use the mouse in the game menus. It was still a fun game, but it was painfully clear to the PC crowd that this was a console game and that minimal work had been done to take advantage of the awesomeness that is PC gaming. Good, homicidal robot that he is, Claptrap has listened to our PC woes and promises that Borderlands 2 will be different; Borderlands 2 will have special, PC-only features.

The full list of promised features is intense, and is certainly enough to make a PC player swoon. Claptrap certainly knows how to get to our hearts:

* FOV (Field of View) Slider
* 100% Mouse-usable menus/ mouse wheel scrolling
* Remappable key bindings (for keyboard and mouse)
* PC specific UI
* Native multiplayer matchmaking
* Push to talk
* Logitech keyboard support
* LAN support (including offline mode)
* Control pad support
* Integrated V-sync option
* Support for higher resolutions
* Mouse smoothing options (can be disable completely)
* Cloud save support
* Achievement support
* Friends list support
* No port-forwarding required

Now, I've summarized the juicy new features here, but you should certainly go check out Claptrap's love letter. It's pretty funny and should not be missed. While some of these features were really expected in the first game, others are very welcome suprises (such as the FOV slider, cloud save system, and lack of needing to port-forward). It's good to know that Gearbox is listening to the community and making up for their past oversights.

Borderlands 2 releases September 18th on PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.
