Where are all of the comments this time? I guess everyone's wrapped up in the election...

I'll be listening on my way home from the office tonight, and you can bet I'll have something to say. Until then, feel free to speculate how much I'll like it.

 

Just got done listening to it. Honestly, I didn't notice a huge difference, except maybe that the volume of voices is more consistent throughout the episode. I've only previously listened to episodes 3 and 4.

 

I listened to it, and thought it was quite well done. Mike's, erm, mic must be good, because all the plosives were pretty much gone. I wouldn't have noticed but my Zune looped through to Podcast one and I could really here them in that one hehe. The LotR stuff was easily the best part, and answered many questions I had after reading the writeup. When are we gonna hear Loren or Jim or someone? I love the guest spot idea.

 

You're asking for trouble! Just kidding; I'm open to the idea. It's up to the head honchos.

I definitely noticed the difference in sound balancing. For the first time, I'm able to hear both people without one threatening to blow the speakers!

If I may be so bold: it gets tiring to hear one person rave about a game, and the other just go, "Meh"... We've had 5 Co-Opticasts, and each one has focused on a select few spotlight games (by "focused", I mean "given at least 5 minutes to"); at some point, you're bound to feature a game for 20 minutes that someone out there doesn't really care about, but they'll faithfully listen...even when they're favorite game is being "meh"ed.
That's something to consider when being dismissive about certain games. At least, that's where I'm coming from; not sure about everyone else...maybe I'm just being a girlie-man.

I got a real kick out of the outro music; that was funny, and a great homage (as Mike would say)!

All in all, another cool episode. Looking forward to the next one, as usual.

 

Another good podcast gentlemen! It was nice to finally hear BAP's explanation on why he's picking up the new COD over R2. Can't wait for the L4D content that's coming in future episodes. Not a fan of LOTR so that bit didn't interest me too much.

Technically speaking it sounded more polished. The levels are well balanced and as a result I didn't find myself hovering over the volume knob as much.

 

Nick and I both upgraded to condenser mics with pop filters, and we're recording our own inputs. We then mix everything in post, so we don't have to worry about the balance/quality of the skype call itself.

I'll try not to "meh" games too much, but I can't help it sometimes

 

I didn't want to name names, but I suppose it's kind of a given for anyone who listened.

Not sure what Nick's rocking, but I've got a Blue Snowball podcasting mic. It's pretty great.
