After 17 years creating games for Sony platforms, Zipper Interactive has been shut down by the publisher. Zipper has created such games has SOCOM Combined Assault on the PS2, SOCOM 4: US Navy Seals on the PS3, and more recently Unit 13 on the PlayStation Vita. Obviously their speciality was tactical shooters and it was something they did quite well.
With the studio's closing the fate of its 80's employees are obviously in jeopardy. Some will likely be rolled into other Sony owned studios, while many will be let go. Best of luck to all those effected, we hope you land on your feet somewhere and continue making awesome cooperative games.
