Sony Summer Sale 2012 Begins Next Week: High on Value, Low on Co-Op

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

It's summer time, which means all the new retail games go on vacation and leave us with nothing but backlogs, downloadable titles, and seasonal sales to appease us. Sony is kicking off their week long Summer Sale 2012 next Tuesday. PlayStation Plus members will be able to pick up 11 different titles for 50% off. Regular people will have to settle for a 30% discount.

The bad news is that there is only one co-op game in the mix: The House of the Dead 3, and it only supports two player local co-op.What's up with that, Sony? I mean, Shadow of the Colossus is cool, but only one co-op game? We may as well go outside. You can see a full list of titles and prices after the break.

Gotham City Impostors     $10.49     ($7.34 Plus Members)

I saw an initial list on IGN that had Renegade Ops on it. I am hoping they are going to offer it for free to PS Plus users in July so they pulled it from the discount list.

I think I'm going to break down and purchase NBA Jam. I rented the retail version and the gameplay was such a blast...I'll gladly pay $7 for a watered down version with better general gameplay and less modes.

I'm tempted to pick up NBA Jam as well... I just don't play the PS3 much these days. Most of my time gaming is spent on Diablo 3 (until the servers are down).

I called it. Renegade Ops is going to be free in PS Plus this month. Pac Man was also listed in the initial IGN sale list and it is also free is Plus this month.

D'oh! Wish I had waited on Renegade Ops, but I think I waited for a sale, so I still didn't pay full price. Man, that is a fun co-op game!
