The Behemoth Gives A Quick Rundown of BattleBlock Theater Features, Character Animation Video Included

BattleBlock Theater has been showcased in many different forms over the last couple of years, like at Comic-Con, PAX East, and E3, making its overall development stages somewhat difficult to keep up with without following The Behemoth’s official Developer's Blog or Twitter account. What they’ve been working on including in their title is quite impressive and we want as many people talking about the game as possible. Thankfully, Behemoth has given us a quick rundown of all the features BattleBlock Theater will be offering come release time, and we can’t be more excited for it.

BattleBlock Theater will be featuring:

    200 + characters to unlock

200 + levels to navigate and conquer

    10 + unique weapon tools

    Variety of interactive block types

    Online Multiplayer Campaign/Arena modes

    30 Achievements

    Avatar Awards

Soundtrack created by well-known artists, and members of our community!

+ Even more to be announced!

What they didn’t mention here (and what we’re ultimately looking forward to) is the BattleBlock Theater Co-Op Mode, where players work together by climbing over one another and using special abilities to traverse levels of deadly traps and over-the-top obstacles. For now, they’ll leave us with this small summary of what’s to come and save the rest for another date. As a bonus, however, they also left us with a small video on how they go through designing character animations that ultimately bring the game to life. Enjoy:

BattleBlock Theater has yet to announce its XBLA release date.

*On a side note: The Prisoner character updates, a, “weekly special treat for us to share with the community, while showcasing some of the various gameplay elements of the game,” will be MIA for a little bit, but Behemoth hopes to bring it back soon.
