How to Create a Popular iPhone App

Ever wondered why the iPhone is so popular? Its creative design, sheer power, and multimedia features are far more superior to those of other smartphones.

But it’s the apps that extend the capability of the iPhone that users love. Almost 1.96 million apps exist in the Google and Apple App Store, and the numbers continue to experience an uptick.

But, how do you create a popular iPhone app from start to finish?

Have an App Idea

Before creating an app, have an idea. It takes time to come up with a new idea for an app.

First, resign yourself to the notion that most “new” ideas are taken. So, try and work with variations of old ideas and package them differently to get new ideas.

Or get creative and use different techniques to create ideas for your app, like:

  • Taking different apps (go for your favorite) then combining and mixing their concepts to form a new app.

  • Building an app that you think could solve your pressing problems.

  • Improving an existing app and then owning the idea.

Always keep in mind that there’s nothing new under the sun. And in fact, no new idea is completely new but rather inspired by another (old) idea.

Do Market Research

In this step, you want to find out if the app idea you chose already exists or if the problem your app seeks to solve has already been solved by another app.

Chances are, some other apps in the App Store are already tackling the same problem that your app solves. If that’s the case, don’t worry.

Remember, there’s nothing new under the sun. So, take time and find a feature you can improve to make your app better than your competitors.

If conducting research is difficult, hire an expert. But taking this path will cost you. If you lack the money, apply for a short-term loan to cover the costs. Search on Google using the phrase “how to get a title loan” and secure a quick emergency loan with a low interest rate.

List down the Features

Your app is still an idea at this point. To actualize your app idea and breathe life into it, write out the features you’d like it to have. This is the fun part of building an app because you get to dream. Put everything down on paper without limiting yourself to anything.

Once you’re done, actualize your idea and give it life by creating an app that meets the needs of your target audience. It’s important.

Design your App

Have the end-user in mind when designing your app. Make sure your app is easy to use and has an intuitive user interface (UI). Before you start designing, ask yourself, “What will the user like when they use my app? And how will they use the app's features?”

Start designing the main screen then focus on the main navigation or the mechanisms for navigating inside the app. Focus on the usability of the app and follow User Experience (UX) best practices to design your app better.
