My Wife the Gear
Let me start by saving it has been a long time since my wife has sat down and played a game with me, in fact the last time she actually played a game with me was back in Sept 2011 when Dead Island came out. So imagine my surprise when yesterday evening my Wife asks to play Gears of War 3.
Like any good husband I oblige her, removing my Skyrim disc and swapping it for the lesser used Gears of War 3 so we can get in some awesome Horde action. Now my Wife is rusty extremely rusty and I myself am a bit rusty on the controls and aiming on Gears so I set the difficulty to Casual so we can both get warmed up and have an enjoyable experience. I set the map to Drydock which is simple enough and has some of the better base locations, I explain to my wife to buying system and how we build up our defenses etc so after constructing the base location we place down our spike strips.
Then the tickers come excellent practice for my wife to get her aiming down.... but something is wrong... there is no grunts in sight only tickers and then it happened..........
Your not seeing things we had Savage Corpsers on wave 1 of horde, with their ever faithful companions the Serapede. It was absolute chaos which involved my wife screaming quite a few times and her being trapped into a corner when she accidently went into cover. We made it to about wave 5 of this before I decided to change maps to Checkout.
One would think it would have gotten better on the new map, and you would be wrong it got worse.... so much worse. We had Bloodmounts on the first wave, followed shortly by Reavers, oh lets not forget the Brumak in the pharmacy. It was absolutely a mess, but at the end when the controllers were set down my wife looked at me and said "I can't wait to play again" it was at that moment that I realized I had the perfect wife.... well and she made homemade banana bread, but it was mostly the game comment.
