My Thoughts For The Next Generation

I've owned most every console since the NES. I don't mind change at all, as long as it doesn't screw over me, the customer. I love playing games on Steam, but sometimes it's nice to kick back in my recliner and play my Xbox 360, which as of now will be my last Microsoft console. I stuck with the Xbox because that's what most of my friends have, otherwise I probably would've stuck with my PS3.

I've always felt MS was fairly evil, but after the details of what they're doing with the Xbox One, I can no longer tolerate their anti-consumer BS. DRM, fees, spyware, restrictions on used/rented games, and the list goes on. I've heard the opinion that MS is dragging everyone into the future. You know what? F#$% that kind of future, where gamers get stomped on in the name of making money. How can anyone stand by MS when they fully admit they spit on used game retailers and their fanbase in general? It boggles the mind. I don't much like the idea of DRM every 24 hours while that Kinect I'll never use spies on me.

Sony gets it. We like being able to trade games with friends. We like buying used games. We like sales that are actually SALES. Sony's made some big blunders this gen, but all can be forgiven as long as they veer away from anything MS is doing. Sony still stands with its customers. Although PS4 will require PS Plus to play online, I'd say it's pretty fair compared to being screwed over with fees just to play used games.

Sorry Microsoft, you can only screw people over so much before they jump ship.
