10 Games that Should Have Co-Op, At Least We Think So

What do you mean, there's no real co-op?!
1 – Grand Theft Auto Series
While GTA IV had some pseudo co-op modes, what Rockstar has always excelled at was their exposition. Their ability to drive a player deep into control of a character is amazing, and Niko Bellic in GTA IV was an engaging fellow. But the game also contained plenty of other great characters, perfectly suitable for co-op. Tack onto that the amazing depth in mission design, taking into account a second player, and you can really get into some fresh territory in terms of gameplay.
With several other open world games adding co-op gameplay, including Saint's Row and Mercenaries 2, Rockstar almost has no choice but to add this to their next GTA game. And while we had hoped to see something in their exclusive DLC for the Xbox 360, it looks like it's not going to happen.
There's still hope for the above games, with quite a few sequels on the way there's plenty of room for co-op. Just look at some of these upcoming and recent titles as examples: Ninja Gaiden Sigma: 2, Red Alert 3, Dawn of War 2, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, Resident Evil 5, Fable 2, Lost Planet 2, and Uncharted 2!
How about Assassins Creed? Imagine the fun with two of you running over those roof tops - it may have even made up for its serious repetitiveness.
Blasphemy nothing could help the repetitiveness of Assassins Creed .
that's a pretty good list. you should make another list of co-op fails. fable 2 would be high on that list
I think that would have actually inspired me to play Mass Effect.
Spider-Man Web of Shadows would be good too. Black Cat has almost all the same moves in that game.
Mass Effect's *combat* would be awesome with co-op, but unless Bioware somehow managed to run multiple dialog trees accounting for each player's input, I just don't see how the story would remain engaging.
N3's lack of co-op was criminal, especially considering most of the game is spend side-by side with one (or more) of the other characters anyway.
Great article guys!
Dead Space 2 might have co-op though. If it does it better not have the same linear corridor action.
One game I WISH had co-op is the upcoming just cause 2, but it seems it won't. Co-op is so big now, It would have been a bullet point (like multiplayer) when they announced the game.
oh i completely forgot about that. i played the beta and had been keeping an eye on it but forgot about it after i found out there's no co-op. definitely would have gotten it if it had co-op. i'll second that!
I think Tenchu needs to take another stab at co-op. Tenchu Wrath of Heaven was an exceptional PS2 game. If you could have been two or three ninjas at once, it would have been quite the exciting battle!
I'll also say that I think it's time for a Half-Life co-op game. Given Alex's role in the last few titles, I think it's annoying to have to shadow her or have her snipe for you but you can't play AS her!
Fallout 3 Yeah!!! When I'm playing with it I always think about it that "Damn! This
should have coop "
Mass Effect Well... maybe in Splitscreen, or something, but one player would control
a partner, but only in the combat scenes.
The Legend of Zelda Errmmm... well, maybe it needs, dunno, but I can play it with single-
player without problems, and I'm still having fun. Still, if it had Coop I would be happy,
because it's a Zelda game
Dead Space HELL YEAH!!! Almost every Horror-game should have Coop, like this one!
Waiting for DS-Extraction, I will have fun with it
Call of Duty Maybe there will be in MW2... maybe... it would be AWESOME!
The Elder Scrolls See Fallout 3. When I'm playing Oblivion I always think of Coop. AND
it's somewhat done by Oblivion Reborn or Oblivion Online, it's still buggy, but one day
they maybe finish it and it would work perfectly.
99 Nights I only heard about this game, haven't played with it...
Killzone 2 Haven't played with it, yet I think it SHOULD have Coop.
Far Cry 2 I don't play with it, I don't like it (Far Cry 1 was okay UNTIL the monsters
came. That ruined everything...)
GTA YES!!! This should have Coop like Saints Row 2
I agree with every game mentioned there, but I must say that the most fun to play in co-op and the hardest to implement would be Fallout and Elder Scroll Series.
Man, I would love to play these games in co-op.
GTA would be great too and I donīt think it would be that hard to do, cause Crackdown and Saintīs Row 2 made it with success.
To be honest, we wanted to wait for post E3 to publish this one to wait and see if any new sequels of single player games were announced with co-op, to add to the final section. That way we were able to bring you as much awesome co-op info in one tidy package as we could! That, and we like to tease
We'll keep looking for more to add to another post similar to this, as well!
STAR WARS REPUBLIC COMMANDO
COD MODERN WARFARE
Co-op in these would be sweet
For me Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3 only work solo. The other games, especially GTA and KIllzone 2 would work well as I don't care about the story in either.
Slow? That wouldn't begin to describe it. I have Mass Effect and love it, but with another player. it would just be boring. It's an RPG with lots of dialog. An character choices that would only affect player one and only player one could chose.
So it would be that no player, but player one could have a conversation with anyone else. Of course, I think that could be amended to the other players are forced to either be unable to talk to certain people or for vendors they would just stick to the sales portion and none of the personal questions.
Still, it's a game ruled by dialog (which i love) and co-op would not fit the style.
Of course, the sequel will have a mini-nuke like *puke* Fallout 3...so crap can come from anyone I guess...
