YES!

Kinda figured it after the post last night, but still AWESOME!

Now, who should I kick from the organized team for tomorrow my co-worker, Bio & Lacey, or Just Some Bald guy.....

Sorry James, you're out :D I need Bio for the Wave, you've had him for too long. And Lacey...well she's just icing on the Bio cake. My co-worker and I have been trying to play together for awhile.

Now James, I know what your saying, "But JG isn't that just four people, why do you need to kick anyone out?"

My answer, "It just has to be done :D "

Hey Bap, I was thinking, could you set some kind of rules so that you and the devs don't get spammed by game invites.

Idea 1) For the dev/co-optimusDude that just want to play Horde mode, they could start a match and after so many plays the dev/co-optimusDude stays while the other gamers leave.

Then the dev/co-optimusDude just invites the gamers who sent them messages

Idea 2) Ask that each co-op group, for those playing Horde, only one person from the group should send a game invite to the dev/co-optimusDude

I just think it would be better for the devs if the event was a little more organized.

My guess is that all notifications will be off for the developers.

We'll probably try to pair up and then just either invite folks in off the cooptimus gamertag or use matchmaking.

I'm not saying this isn't organized, but I hate Game with Developer events that post their gamertags. Why? Because having one person go through probably hundreds of invites or messages is just insane.

I know. I deal with it every month. But until there's a better solution this is what we got.

I take exception to this comment. You have no clue how much effort goes into this. Last month, Nick left his house in the pouring rain and bought a new Xbox outright just so he wouldn't have to cancel the Co-Op Night.

If you're going to make assumptions, then at least give Nick, Mike, and Marc the benefit of the doubt. They've been working all week on this.

EDIT: I'm sorry to rip on you, and especially in this thread. I understand you meant no disrespect.
I'm always getting on to my wife about saying things without consideration first, and when it comes to typing on a forum, you have plenty of time to think out your words before posting.

Of course, I suppose I could practice this a little myself...

You gotta remember also the Devs know this going in especially with a game like Gears 2 the Devs know they are going to be dealing with rabid fans who want to ask them all sorts of questions or learn tricks, it just the way things are.

My hats off to the Team here at Co-Optimus for not only organizing the event but also going through the trouble of making sure it works. (Nick I feel for ya going to buy a new xbox just to get this thing going)

Anyway heres hoping everyone has a fun night to just sit down and relax with our fellow coop gamers.

Are you going to stream anything tonight on the web? That was awesome when you did it with CoD:WaW. Would love to see/hear more of that sometime.

Well when I posted it, I didn't mean it as any insult to what Co-optimus.com was doing. But after I posted it, I realized such a comment could be taken out of context if there was no further explanation of what I meant.

And while yes, the developers do know it going in. It could be beneficial next time we're lucky enough to have developers join us, if we could come up with some better way.

Such as, and I don't mean we should try to do it tonight, but at a later event. How about instead of posting the developers' gamertags we use GTs like co optimus and maybe some other volunteers.

Then those people filter through the list and send the gamertags to the developers when their ready.

Heck, the volunteers don't need to be on a 360, they could just as easily be on a computer at xbox.com and forward the list from there.

Anyway, I got these thoughts yesterday and figured it's better to post and get feedback instead of brushing them off and forgetting.

Now I can't wait for tonight!

Once again, you're assuming. ;)

Nick, Mike, and Marc will be filtering requests. The developer Gamertags above are set up so that they cannot see Live alerts, so they will not respond.

The reason that those temporary Epic tags are posted are so that people can recognize the devs when they get into a game with them. If the traffic slows down, the rooms may go public, at which point people can use the tags to follow them into a game.

It's not assuming if I'm just stating thoughts and ideas to bounce off. And I don't even know what you think I'm assuming. You just say I'm assuming, assuming what? People fly, the devs play games? I don't know what you mean by that.

Nick himself has stated in this thread he doesn't like the current method.

I'm not talking about constantly getting notifications of invites or messages. Nor am I saying that the EpicDev gamertags should be renamed.

All I am saying for that particular idea #3, if people are keeping track, is that instead of messages going straight to the devs, we have a buffer to filter out double invites, one person taking a lot of a dev's time, etc.
