 This Week in Co-Op: Resident Evil... 5! To be honest, when I first got a chance to play Resident Evil 5, I wasn’t impressed. Nick detailed our little outing with the demo in a previous This Week in Co-Op, and no, my dislike of the game had nothing to do with the fact that I got cut in half with a chainsaw. After putting some hours in with the full game, however, it seems that the latest Resident Evil isn’t quite so bad as first feared, but is, in fact, quite wicked. I would even be willing to go so far as to say that zombies and co-op go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Re: This Week in Co-Op: Resident Evil... 5! No, technically they aren't. In the Resident Evil universe, zombies are very different than the enemies found in RE4 and RE5. The zombies in the Resident Evil games are slow-moving, aren't smart at all, and are very different creatures than the Majini found in Resident Evil 5. At the beginning of Resident Evil 5, Chris specifically states that the Majini are not zombies, as does Leon in the beginning of Resident Evil 4 after Leon kills his first Ganados.

Doesn't really change the fact that they are, by the definition of a zombie, zombies.

undefined Zombies are dead. Majini/Ganados are not dead. They are people with a parasite in them that, through a stronger version of a parasite carried by someone else, is controlled. They are living things.

Well to be fair they are not traditional zombies however they are still zombies, the host is very much dead however the parasite takes over their body and uses it for its will. So yea anyone who comes mindlessly at me using a shovel as a weapon I will call him a zombie.
