Post Co-Op Release Alert: Heavy Weapon for PSN

Heavy Weapon may have come out on the Xbox Live Arcade over two years ago, but that doesn't mean you should ignore today's release on the PlayStation Network.

Heavy Weapon is a arcade game from PopCap Games in which up to four players can cooperate to take down a huge number of on screen enemies.  Players control a tank that they can upgrade with different weapons between levels.  The on screen action is nothing short of chaos, but it's the kind of chaos that leaves you smiling when the dust settles.

Heavy Weapon for the PlayStation Network supports four player local and online co-op, including drop-in and drop-out support.

I just checked out the demo last night. It was a blast. Great, simple game play and lovely graphics. Im very tempted to pick up the full game, but Ive been going nuts on PSN with FFVII and Gunstar Heroes and others, so Im gonna try and calm down for the time being.

Definitely check out the demo. It was a blast.

Unforunately, this is flash game shovelware. If it were budget-priced, this wouldn't be a problem, but it's $10. I say play Magic Ball or Eden in co-op while you wait for the price to come down on this. That being said, the demo is pretty fun and once it's priced appropriately (or there's a patch which upgrades the visual quality).

Let PopCap and Sony know they need to add more value to these games by voting with your dollars. If I wanted shovelware, I would have save $200 and bought a Wii instead of a PS3.
