Right now we all should have been knee deep in xenomorph carcasses.  Aliens Colonial Marines was originally planned for an early June release, but has since all but disappeared from release schedules.  Instead we saw publisher Sega choosing to hype up a brand new, and non co-op, Alien vs. Predator title.  We feared the worst, thinking the four player co-op shooter from Gearbox was canceled.  Thankfully that's not the case.

Gearbox president Randy Pitchford has told Kotaku the game is now a 2010 release, and then when the game does release we'll also see a Nintendo DS version.  No word on if that version will have co-op or not.

Glad to hear it was not canned, it was one of the titles I was really looking forward to because combining what made l4d awesome and throwing in aliens instead of zombies is nothing short of awesome.

this game looks like it will be fun. i'm glad they're getting borderlands out first though. what's w/ gbx lately? it seems like everything is being pushed a year or more. do they have too much on their plate?

i thought this was going to have more of a story though. biohzrd makes it sound like there's none (L4D has very little story to it).

Hehe i was making that reference due to the 4 player co-op and being in a similar situation, haven't heard anything about the story yet.

Yea, the story is suppose to take place between (I think) Aliens & Aliens 3.

As a team of marines investigate the Sulaco after the second movie.

I'm very glad this is still coming. I think I would have bought this & Borderlands this year if this had come out. Would have made Gearbox my Dev of the Year.

I agree smurphster it seems not only Gearbox, but Obsidian also has a bit on their plate. Let's hope the titles don't get drowned out by their other works.
