To many of the geeky persuasion, Magic: The Gathering is a favorite past time. Many afternoons were spent burning, trampling, and pacifying one another in the lunch room cafeteria. Many lunch monies were spent on booster packs, and many friends were made in the process. Years later, Magic: The Gathering has a digital format true to the original card game. Duels of The Planeswalkers is that game, bringing Magic to our Xbox LIVE arcade! Play against opponents around the world, or settle down for some local co-op that brings Planeswalkers together. Does Duels of the Planeswalkers work the Co-op angle well, or should you stick to comic book stores for your social-Magic fix?

You can unlock cards while playing co-op both online and offline versus the AI and some decks unlock 17 not 15 cards. How did you get that wrong?

I haven't bought the game yet. I'm still waiting on a confirmation that Last.FM can be played in the background while playing games. If I know that I'll definitely buy Magic and go the 100%.

Sounded like it was going to be fun, and I played the demo and liked it, but no online co-op is unacceptable.

Yeah, as much as I would love this game, no online co-op would stop me from buying it. Its one of those games that cant be much fun by yourself.

You do unlock cards in the co-op campaign, it just doesn't TELL you that you've unlocked them. (odd quirk)

Personally,I probably would have rated it one point higher. I can tell you that I had more fun playing this co-op than I did playing the last Call of Duty game.

Seven, Sinnix, thanks for pointing out that you can, indeed, unlock cards for your deck in other ways than solo campaign. I verified it works in campaign co-op, but cannot try online since my router is all packed up for a move!

My apologies for Kat and I missing this, as well as how some decks unlock 17 cards. That one was a simple oversight, but I really think the unlocks should get announced in game any time you get them.

I adjusted the score upwards a half point to reflect this, as I consider it a major change.

I tried the demo and was intrigued, but the lady didn't seem that interested. Unless I can get her to bite on it I don't think I'll be picking it up.
