If you guys want to start without me, I'll try and sign on as soon as I get home and just catch up. The first few levels go by really fast.

If we are even one story quest ahead of you, you won't be able to do any of the quests. The best way for this to work is every character stay together at the same part in the story. If you are ahead of the story arc, it's not such a huge deal. But get behind and it screws everything up. Plus with your late start time, that gives us a very short time to play.

Bapenquin & OrigamiPanther were ahead of me by a ton of missions and I was still able to turn in the missions as if I had completed them. Not the story missions, but the sides mission we did. We did not complete story missions in the session.

We did not complete story missions in the session. In the early game, most of the quests are story quests. Trust me on this I got burned on it the other night. Here's how it works. The game picks up on the story based on the host's saved game. Let's say the host (Player A) is on story mission #32. Player B has completed up to story mission #30. Player C and D up to #34. When the host launches the game, the story will pick up at mission #32. The host will be able to pick up the #32 quest. Players C and D will be able to pick up mission #34. Player B won't be able to pick up squat because the game considers all quests from #31 and below to be completed already, and the game won't let you do story quests without completing the ones leading up to it. Now the answer to this is simply let Player B host the game, and the higher players catch him up to the rest of the group. This isn't normally any kind of issue. However, if the point of this group is to level together, constantly having to backtrack and catch players up kinda defeats the purpose of having that group.

Another point is that even though we didn't go after story missions, I got a ton of non-story missions from non-host players. So why do players that are not the host able to share their non-story missions?

So why do players that are not the host able to share their non-story missions? My guess? 1. You were playing late game where there are a bazillion side quests (I don't know this as I'm only 12) and it's not as much as a factor. --OR-- 2. You are mixed up on what you are talking about. The point again is this. If we are trying to form a group to all play through together, it won't work if one person shows up 2-hours later because the game simply will not allow him to progress in the story. When he logs in it will give him a HUGE orange message screen telling him this. I've detailed how it works. There is really nothing to argue here.

 Re: Borderlands
Yeah, I think Ash is right. Looks like I'm going to have to sit this one out. It probably works out just as well since my roommates are going to want to watch the hockey game and I really wasn't looking forward to fighting over the TV. Good hunting guys.

 Re: Borderlands
In my opinion, the greatest fault in this game is the lack of voice acting in the quests dialog. I know there are many quests, but it kinda feels like a MMORPG, but maybe that's just because I'm used to games like Oblivion and Fallout.

Darth Lupus wrote: I am looking for 3 people to join me in a play through the game all using new characters. But I would like it to be one hunter, one siren, one solder, and one berserker. Also I would like to set it up for this up coming Thursday (originally on Firday also I will be on after work and that will be 6 PM PST time). If you would like to join then please put down the time and which character you would like to play along with a second.
My first two choices is
Hunter Berserker I can play whatever character if you still need players. I can be online tonight from 7 PM US East time and a few hours forwards...

 Re: Borderlands
People People People Just bought the game last night, played 12 hours worth, now I'm searching for some cool people to play with. I tried the quick match, but most of the time people leave, poop around and ask for duel matches. I'm looking to play quests. Anyway, if anyone would like to play from the beginning - gamertag: LTJIllogic Or if anyone is currently here - Level 22. Invite me as well. On one condition - I'm Siren. LOL (just kidding ) I'll be anyone.
